As we entered the
port we had an amazing reception from the local people of Ghana. All
the ships in port were dressed in their best ceremonial
international flags, hooting their horns as we passed them. A fire
engine drove along the dockside with its siren blazing away to
underline the importance of our visit. Some 11,000 miles since we
left Jakarta in August, and just 32 two days since we left Cape Town
some 3000 miles away. This is a voyage that none of the crew will
ever forget. We have developed very strong friendships and will be
making the most of those over the next week as we wind down and
prepare the ship for transportation back to Indonesia.
In the meantime,
the crew would like to thank all the individuals who have followed
our progress on the website and those who have sent messages of
support. It has been fantastic to share our experience with you.
Finally we would like to thank our many sponsors and supporters. Without
your support the expedition would not have happened. In particular
we would like to thank the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the
